Nurses SHIFT Change – Grounded in Humanity. Guided by Ethics. Driven by Science. Committed to Social Justice. Report for Duty Rally, May 24, 2025 – Washington, DC and nationwide

The Report for Duty Rally is a national day of action led by the Nurses SHIFT Change, bringing together nurses, healthcare professionals, students, and community allies to advocate for a just, compassionate, and equitable healthcare system. On May 24, 2025, in Washington, D.C. and cities across the country, we will show up, speak out, and stand together for the future of healthcare, grounded in humanity, ethics, science, and social justice.

This rally is a nationwide activation to ignite a movement toward the Million Nurse March in 2026 and reaffirm our collective commitment to humanity, ethics, social justice, science, and the 75th anniversary of our Nursing Code of Ethics.

National Nursing Organizations Call for Investments in Health, Research, and the Workforce – posted April 17, 2025

Statement issued on behalf of the American Academy of Nursing, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research, the National League for Nursing, and the Oncology Nursing Society. “As nursing organizations, we stand to uphold what is core and critical to our profession— placing the patient at the center of our care. We stand in unity to advance health and advocate for innovation, progress, and reform where needed. Of particular concern is the proposed elimination of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).”
